In his words!
“MAMA”. I wrote this song some years ago while working on an Album project with this same Arranger Richard Bourne. He had given me a cassette with ten (10) music tracks on it and I said I want to write a Mother’s Song, but none of these tracks are talking to me. The reason being, if the Music comes first, when I listen to it the vibe tells me what kind of lyrics need to be applied to the track whether militant, Lovers or sad etc. So a couple weeks later Richard turns up at my work place playing a track on the car stereo and say listen to this, and almost instantly the Lyrics pop in my head.
“Mama did I remember to tell you how wonderful you are,
Mama in my life you shine like the morning Star.” – (me lyric just start fe flow like butter pon bread) and whoops there it is, now on the - Palm Tree Label with a new arrangement, celebrating the great contribution of Mothers maternal or adopted.

With such heart felt lyrics, the messenger, NJERI D, sings with the wholesome grace of a loving son. His voice pours in to all of us the joy, love, and the countless memories that only a mother's love could provide. Njeri D
Njeri D is a Singer/Songwriter who his love for creativity at the age of 13. Njeri D was born in Wimbledon England and later schooled in Barbados.
Real name Norman Andrew Knight, Njeri D is a Singer of love and truth from conscious Reggae to Romance, with a voice as smooth and silky as a Balladeer and sometimes Ruff and Rugged. Njeri in West Africa means “Anointed” and D. is for Disciple.
At Secondary School he would sing at lunch and break time in the class room and the girls would always request him to sing their favorite songs of the day. At sixteen he was accepted in the Royal Barbados Police Band where he was taught to play Trumpet and Tuba, while he taught his self to play the guitar. But of all the Genres he was expose to,
Reggae music impacted him the most, so he became a Rasta for over 20 years playing his guitar, Singing and Writing Songs for competition and on numerous stages.

Njeri D. has sung on NCL Cruise lines, Hotels, Festivals and major Reggae and Soca Shows with Rupee, Alison Hinds, Third World, Coco Tea, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond and many more.
His biggest hits are “Zouke DEM” No. 5 on the World Beat Charts (Germany) on an Album featuring Rita Marley, Gloria Estefan, Lucky Dubai. Across the Caribbean, “Cease Fire” – Njeri and Shakey Ranks.
Latest projects: two singles called 'My Father Got This' and 'Mama' and a new EP “Look At The Times” signed to Recording Company FE FE Entertainment LLC. In the USA.
